Reduced solvent consumption

Formulite^® supports a more sustainable pharmaceutical manufacturing process through substantially reduced solvent consumption providing a lower environmental footprint compared to spray drying.

The loading process is based on mixing and drying under comparatively mild conditions, avoiding the large solvent volumes and energy-intensive evaporation steps typically required in polymer-based amorphous solid dispersions. This contributes not only to reduced emissions and waste streams, but also to improved process safety and simplified solvent handling and recovery.

 

Biodegradeable matrix

Formalite is based on a biodegradable magnesium carbonate matrix, combining environmental responsibility with robust formulation performance and streamlined manufacturability.

Unlike polymer-heavy systems, the technology relies on an inorganic, mesoporous carrier that enables high drug loading without introducing a significant additional polymer burden. The matrix gradually dissolves under physiological conditions, supporting drug release while minimizing the accumulation of persistent excipient materials.
